Teaching With Intelligence Tools — Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Teaching With Intelligence ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use tools.teachingwithintelligence.com (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account and use the Service, we collect:
- Email address and name (provided at signup)
- Usage data — which tools you use, how many generations you run, timestamps
- Content you input into the tools — subject, grade level, topics, lesson objectives
- Payment information — processed and stored by Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers
- Device and browser information for security and performance purposes
2. Student Data
Teaching With Intelligence Tools is designed for teacher use. We do not create accounts for students. When a teacher deploys a chatbot link to students:
- Students are identified only by the name they type at the start of a session
- Student conversation text is stored and associated with the teacher's account
- We do not collect student email addresses, device identifiers, or persistent profiles
- We do not use student conversation data for advertising or to train AI models
Teachers are responsible for ensuring their use of the chatbot feature complies with applicable student privacy laws including FERPA and COPPA. For students under 13, the teacher and/or school must obtain verifiable parental consent prior to use.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send you important account and service updates
- Respond to your support requests
- Monitor usage to enforce plan limits and prevent abuse
- Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the Service
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure password hashing
- Role-based access controls
- Regular security monitoring
While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, consistent with applicable law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and any other applicable breach notification statutes. Notification will be sent to the email address associated with your account.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. These are required for the Service to function. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or behavioral analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from logging in or using the Service.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service uses the following third-party providers:
- Supabase — database and authentication (AWS infrastructure)
- Lovable / AI Gateway — application hosting and AI generation
- Stripe — payment processing
- Loops.so — transactional and product email
Each provider has their own privacy policy governing their use of data. We encourage you to review them.
8. AI and Data Usage
Content you enter into the Service (subjects, grade levels, topics) is sent to AI providers to generate outputs. We do not use your inputs or outputs to train AI models. AI providers process your inputs according to their own terms and data policies.
Lesson plans and quizzes are generated on demand and displayed on screen only. They are not saved to our servers. If you navigate away or refresh the page, the output is gone — use the Copy or Export buttons to save your work. The only usage data we store is a counter of how many generations you have used. Custom AI Chatbot conversations are stored in our database so teachers can review student conversations and students can resume sessions.
9. FERPA
Teaching With Intelligence is willing to serve as a School Official under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) for purposes of the Service, where applicable. We will not disclose student education records to third parties without consent except as permitted by FERPA.
School districts may request a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) to formalize our data handling obligations prior to district-wide deployment. Contact us at hello@teachingwithintelligence.com to initiate this process.
10. COPPA
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Service is intended for use by teachers and education professionals who are adults.
If a teacher shares a chatbot link with students under 13, the teacher and/or school is responsible for obtaining verifiable parental consent as required by COPPA prior to use. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the Service without proper consent, please contact us immediately at hello@teachingwithintelligence.com and we will take prompt action to delete the information.
